In 2017, the Trustees had agreed to establish a new category of “Founder’s award”, using up to 10% of the Foundation’s income. Such awards would support projects of social or educational benefit.

An award to support training on the dangers of working with stone and practical instruction on preventive measures, as part of an expanding Scottish apprenticeship scheme in stone masonry for unemployed young men.
The Colt Foundation was established in 1978. We fund high quality research, support students undertake higher degrees at UK universities, and organise and financially support scientific conferences in the occupational health research sector.
